About

Two things that will tell you a lot about me as a teacher/therapist are my fundamental beliefs:

  1. Everyone is in their own process.  I don’t even pretend to know what other people are going through so I always try to treat everyone from a space of unconditional love.

  2. I teach and treat from my own experiences in life.  I always try to leave my ego at the door and I will forever be a student.  I value everyone’s opinion & feedback as it helps me to be the best I can possibly be.

 

I have been teaching yoga for 7 years and practicing for 10.  I draw from many things as inspiration for my teaching, some quite traditional and some not.  The Anusara Yoga Method was what I learned in Teacher Training.  The alignment principles and philosophy really speak to me on a personal level and they are the foundation for my own unique style of yoga.

Coming from a sports background which later became an injured background, I teach yoga from a place of deep compassion toward the body.  I don’t feel the need to push or force bodies towards some exterior goal.  The aim of my yoga classes are to bring attention and awareness to the body while connecting students to deeper parts of themselves using philosophy.  I try to make every class balanced with postures and movements designed to strengthen and fortify while also facilitating a release of tension (either physical or energetic).

All bodies and experience levels are welcome in my classes.

One of my specialties is to bring a brief and potent yoga practice to your workspace!  I have spent a lot of time learning multiple tools to counteract the negative effects of long-term sitting.  I am also very passionate about meditation & mindfulness and I can confidently tailor this practice to any working environment.  Corporate classes include:

- All mats/props provided

- Breathing practice 

- Strength & stability work for posture

- Stretching/releasing pressure in tight areas

- Mindfulness meditation

Emerging research on how yoga & meditation can affect the workplace has shown that for every dollar spent by the company on wellness programs, three dollars are gained through productivity boosts and workplace morale increases.

All that is needed is enough space to lay down a few mats and 45 minutes to an hour of time before/after work or during a lunchbreak!
